Continuing Education Information


Adjuster/Agent CEU Certification


The following is necessary to ensure that you receive proper certification for your credits:

1. Go to the Continuing Education booth, located in the FWCI registration area on the convention level. Present a photo ID and license number, check in, and pick up information to record your attendance.

2. Don’t be late for sessions. The Department of Financial Services regulations state that if you miss more than ten minutes per sixty minutes of instruction, or if you leave prior to the end of the session, you will not receive credit for the course.

3. For a complete list of all courses approved for Adjuster/Agent CEU, check with the Continuing Education desk located in the FWCI registration area, on the convention level.

4. You are responsible for recording your attendance, for each session you attend, on your Continuing Education Attendance Verification Form (CEAv). Monitors will be available in each room if you have any questions.

Continuing Education credits being sought for several states.


Nursing, CCM, CDMS, CRC, CVE

This program is approved for 17.0 contact hours by KK Educational Services, FL BON 50-1163. Nursing credits are applicable for CRRN and COHN renewal requirements.

Approval is pending for 17.0 clock hours of continuing education credit for CCM and CDMS from the Commission for Case Manager Certification and the Certified Disability Management Specialist Commission.

Approval is pending for 17.0 clock hours of continuing education credit for CRC and CVE from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification and the Commission on Certification of Work Adjustment and Vocational Evaluation Specialists.

Not all sessions in this program are approved for continuing education (CE) credit. Visit the Medical Continuing Education Booth, located in the FWCI registration area, for further information.

To ensure that you receive proper CE credit for the sessions you attend:

1. You must be registered for the conference and present your badge at the Medical Continuing Education Booth in order to receive CE credit.

2. You must obtain a separate CE packet from the Medical Continuing Education Booth after receiving your conference registration materials.

3. Complete the attendance verification form and evaluation form from the CE packet and return them to the Medical Continuing Education Booth when you have completed all sessions. You will receive your certificate of attendance at that time. Both forms must be completed and returned in order to receive credit.

4. Certificates of Attendance will not be mailed to any participant. You MUST return your forms to the Medical Education Booth prior to 4:00 pm Wednesday, August 19, 2009 in order to receive CE credit.

Submission of attendance by any other means after 4:00 pm August 19, 2009 will not be accepted. Requests for CE credit after the conference has ended will not be honored.

Nursing license numbers are required in order to receive proper CE credit. Failure to provide this information can result in non-issuance of CE credit. Please remember to bring your license number with you to the conference.

Special Note: The Division of Workers Compensation Bi-Annual re-certification requirements for rehabilitation providers can be attained by attending the Tuesday afternoon session in Crystal Ballrooms P & Q. Please consult the program for further details.


Continuing Medical Education

Continuing Legal Education

Participants who wish to receive Continuing Legal Education Requirement credits should report and complete required bar information at the Continuing Legal Education booth located in the FWCI registration area, on the convention level. Note: Individual reporting online is required for some states. Course credit approval pending through numerous state bars.


Safety Certification

Participants holding the CSP certification interested in counting Continuance of Certification (COC) points for the safety track should review the BCSP Continuance of Certification Guide or contact the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) directly at (217) 359-9263 or visit their website at www.bcsp.org for more information. Certificates of Completion will be provided for attending certain designated conference courses.

PHR, SPHR and GPHR Recertification Credits

Human Resource attendees may submit the 64th Annual Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference to the HR Certification Institute for recertification credit on an hour-for-hour basis of HR educational content time.


Mediators Continuing Education

Pursuant to Administrative Order entered by Chief Justice Major B. Harding on 9-11-98 (effective 4-1-00), for certification renewal on or after 4-1-02, a minimum of 16 hours of Continuing Mediator Education (CME) credits must be completed, which shall include a minimum of 4 hours of mediation ethics in each two year renewal cycle, including the two years following initial certification. And pursuant to recent amendment, 2 hours of Domestic Violence and 1 hour of Cultural Diversity is also required for recertification.

This 3-day program provides up to 12 hours of “general” Civil Continuing Mediation Training credit, if this information is needed to help you improve on your mediator skills for workers’ compensation matters.

Mediators must check in at the CLE booth. A Certificate of Attendance will be provided.

Attendance at the Advanced Mediation Techniques Breakout will provide 3.6 hours of General Mediator credits, at least 2 hours of Mediator Ethics, up to 1 hour of Domestic Violence and 1 hour of Cultural Diversity (exact amounts of credit will be announced at the conclusion of this breakout).
